If you are planning on making a large quantity of greeting cards or invitations then it is useful to know the number of cards that can be made from a single piece of standard sized card stock. This can help to save money as it reduces the amount of potential waste. Using standard sized pieces of card stock needn't result in boring cards and invitations.
