Inserts for Card Making

By , About.com Guide

Definition: Inserts are sometimes used by card makers when making handmade cards. An insert is a piece of paper that is inserted into the middle of a card. They often contain words or sentiments such as the details of a wedding on an card that is being made as a wedding invitation. The benefits of inserts is that they can be printed on standard weight paper and applied to heavy weight card stock which would otherwise be difficult to print. Inserts can also be bought ready made, which is an ideal way to create cards quickly and easily. A ready made insert can be popped into a card blank that has been decorated with rubber stamped images for a quick, professional looking handmade card.
