Stampington Inspirations:
Part magazine, part catalog, Stampington Inspirations is true to its title and provides plenty of inspiration for the creative stamper. This is an annual publication that is designed to both showcase the latest rubber art stamps from Stampington and Company, and to give examples of stamped cards and projects to whet the reader's appetite.
The Stamping Magazine Section:
Stampers familiar with the Stampington and Company style will know what to expect from the magazine section of this publication. In the 2008/2009 issue 80 pages are dedicated to the magazine and this includes more than 140 hand stamped cards and other projects. The projects have been created by the Stampington team of Artists on Call. The projects all use both new and 'old favorites' Stampington stamps.
The Catalog:
The catalog section of the publication spreads over the bulk of the magazine and features over 1000 images of stamps from the Stampington range. The images are clearly arranged in sections, making the catalog easy to browse. The Stampington range of stamps definitely falls into the 'art stamp' category and offer plenty to inspire the artistic stamper. Some of the stamps are extremely detailed 'photo' stamps and are probably better suited to stampers with a bit of stamping experience. There is still, however, plenty to inspire a novice stamper. The Clearly Impressed stamps are a range of clear acrylic stamps.

Stampington Inspirations is a hybrid publication - part stamping magazine, part stamp catalog. It is ideal for both stampers looking to take their craft to a new level and for experienced stampers. The projects are interesting and innovative, using many different techniques. The stamp catalog is a delight for any stamper who is looking to plan new purchases or simply to daydream about new and different stamps.
A Good Buy?:
It wasn't that long ago when the only way that a stamper could get an idea about the stamps available from a stamping company was to buy a catalog. Today, the situation has changed and the wealth of information available on the Internet from both stamp manufacturers and online crafts stores means that stampers have an important alternative information source. This means that for stamp catalogs still to have a place in the market they need to offer something a little different.
Stampington Inspirations successfully adds value to the stamp catalog with the magazine section of the publication and at $9.99 represents good value. The publication has plenty to read and to inspire in the magazine section along with a comprehensive stamp catalog. While a lot of the information about stamps can be found on the Stampington and Company website, this lacks the portability of the paper version - a benefit that anyone who enjoys browsing a stamp catalog at night in bed over a mug of cocoa will appreciate!
