I used the Nurikabe template (see the previous page for details) to create Fairy Nurikabe. I printed the template onto scrap paper and then transferred this to a thick cardstock. I created the tutu from a piece of tissue paper that I decorated with rubber stamps. Her wings are formed from two rubber stamped hearts that I cut out and attached to her body using craft wire. I made her hair using paper quilling techniques. The eyelashes are simply formed from some black tissue paper that I cut and curled. A few dots of glitter glue gave her nail varnish on fingers and toes and, as no self respecting fairy would ever be seen without a wand, I created a wand by stamping a star onto a piece of scrap cardstock using glue and flocking before attaching this to a piece of craft wire.

See the next page for some tips for using paper toy templates and another example of the paper toy templates available from Macula.tv.
