Rubber Stamp Air Dry Clay Ornament

When choosing stamps to use with air dry clay, stamps with a strong and bold outline give the best impression. Air dry clay takes a couple of days to dry, depending on the environment. This drying time needs to be taken into account when planning an air dry clay project. When the clay is dry, it can be decorated with varnish, paint, inks or a variety of other coloring methods. Rubber stamps can simply be cleaned with soap and water after use.

Materials Required

• Air dry clay
• Craft rolling pin
• Sharpe knife
• Old newspapers or craft mat
• Paint, inks etc to color
• Rubber stamps

Don't worry if you don't have a suitable rolling pin or other tools - with a little ingenuity a whole variety of household bits and pieces can be used as make-shift tools! A wine bottle or straight sided jar, for instance makes an ideal substitute for a rolling pin.
