I added a red heart bead to the card topper using a piece of cotton. The polymer clay can be sealed if required. This protects the surface and while it might not be necessary for all uses, if you want to turn the card topper into an ornament or piece of jewelry where it receives harder wear and tear, it is advisable.

I sometimes make these with a loop at the top so the card topper can be used as an ornament. I use double sided adhesive foam squares to attach them to cards, meaning they are easy to remove so that the card topper can be hung as required
