When you are happy with the finished effect, leave it to one side to dry. The decoupage medium will give a relatively hard wearing surface. However, a coat or two of acrylic varnish will help to ensure that the box stays looking great for many years to come.
Tip: There were parts of the stamped images that I really liked, such as the flourish shown above. I kept some of these to one side and applied them as the final layer of decoupage so they could be clearly seen.
