While stamping a word search grid is reasonable easy to do, there are a couple of tips that will help:

  • Stamp onto paper and add this to a greeting card blank rather than stamping directly onto the card blank. This is easier to replace if things go wrong!
  • Try drawing a grid onto scrap paper with a marker pen. When paper is placed over this the grid will indicate where the stamps are to go
  • An alternative to the above is to lightly draw the letters onto a piece of paper with pencil and stamp over this
  • Don't worry too much if the letters aren't perfectly aligned - this is part of the charm of a handmade card!
  • Use a dye or fast drying ink as this will reduce the likelihood of smudging.

Tips for Making a Word Search Greeting Card

Here are a few tips to help make fun and interesting word search cards:
  • Pick words that are personal to the recipient. For instance sports terms - or even rubber stamping words as shown in the photograph!
  • Use words that are appropriate for an occasion, such as birthdays or anniversaries
  • Make this a design feature rather than a puzzle and stamp the words in different colors. This will make them stand out on the grid.

This is a fun way to make a rubber stamped handmade card with a difference! If you make a word search card and would like to share it, don't forget that you are very welcome to post a photograph in the Rubber Stamping forum.
