Heat the Surface of the Candle

Heat the Candle

Heat the Candle

Kate Pullen
With a heat gun, gently heat the surface of the candle. When the surface of the candle starts to glisten take the heat away. The stamped image will sink into the melted wax. Note from the picture above how the white paper that was clearly seen in the previous photograph has blended into the background when heated.

Variations:
  • Embossed images work well with this technique.
  • Vibrant color such as those achieved with a marker pen will give a more striking effect on the finished project.
  • Overlapped images need to be trimmed so that there is only one layer of paper.
