Mounting Foam

Kate Pullen
Unmounted rubber stamps are increasing in popularity. Sheets of rubber stamps are readily available, however in order to be used the stamps need to be mounted. Traditionally this would have meant mounting the stamps onto wooden blocks, however a modern alternative is to use cling mounting foam that allows the stamps to be used in conjunction with clear acrylic blocks.

Cling mounting foam generally has protective paper over both sides. One side of the foam is coated with a strong glue that permanently adheres to the stamp. The other side of the foam has a clinging surface and this allows the stamp to stick to an acrylic block.
