Medallion stamps are a wonderful way to create 3d images and embellishments for a variety of projects. There are a wide range of medallion stamp designs available and each design can be used in different ways. To create 3d medallions, the images are stamped onto paper and cardstock and then colored and cut into sections. These are then compiled using glue, glue dots or double sided tape to give a layered image.

Take a look at this profile for more information about medallion stamps and how they can be used.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: A couple of hours

Here's How:

  1. Stamp multiple images onto a sheet of paper as required.

Note: When using a medallion stamp for the first time, experiment with different coloring patterns on scrap paper before working on the finished project.

  2. Color in the different sections of the medallion image. There is no need to color in the parts of the medallion that will be hidden under other layers.

  3. Cut around the different sections of the medallion. Assemble these using glue, glue dots or double sided tape.

Take a look at these illustrated step by step instructions for a more detailed explanation of how to use these interesting rubber stamps.

Tips:

  1. Stand up to stamp the images - this will ensure a more even pressure and give clear images.
  2. For a professional finish run a marker pen around the cut edge of the medallions.
  3. Start with simple and bold designs as these are easier to work with.
