The lifting (lift-off) technique is an interesting twist on the traditional method of stamping. Instead of using inks or other medium to stamp a design on the paper, the lifting technique uses a stamp to remove Perfect Pearls or other pigment powders from a piece of paper. This reveals the color of the paper beneath the pigment powders. I used a black piece of paper to demonstrate this technique as it highlighted the effect. More subtle effects can be achieved using different shades of paper.
This technique can be used in a wide variety of ways. Make a panel for a handmade card or build up an all over design to use as background paper for a project.
