Simple Masking Technique

Position the shape as required on the front of the card. I positioned this shamrock centrally. Either carefully hold the template in place or use a repositionable glue and start stamping repeatedly. Don't worry if you go over the edge of the template - that is what it is there for! Build up a strong all over design. When you take the template away, the place that was masked will be unstamped.
