Use the Free Invitation Templates and Rubber Stamps

Printable Invitation Templates are Ideal for Creating Your Own Unique Invites

By Kate Pullen, About.com

Using free printable invitation templates is a simple way to create your own unique invitations. There are many ways of using the templates and they are easy to customize by adding a few rubber stamped images. This is a good way of making invitations for weddings, parties or other special occasions. Making handmade invitations is a low cost way of making great keepsakes.

Invitation Templates - Printable invitation templates. These templates feature different fonts and are available with four to a page or eight to a page. The examples below look at ideas for using the templates in more detail.

Invitation Card

Large invitationKate Pullen
This invitation has been created using the four-to-a-page templates. Instead of folding the cardstock, greeting card style, it has been trimmed and left flat. A rubber stamped image has been stamped onto cardstock and this has been attached to the top of the card. A row of glitter glue dots has been made around the stamped cardstock to make a feature of the join between the two pieces of cardstock. A few dots of glitter glue have been added as accents.

Stamping onto a separate piece of cardstock and adding this is great for beginner stampers as there is no risk of ruining the invitation by stamping a wobbly image!

Small Invitation

This invitation has been made by cutting and trimming one of the eight-per-page templates. This is ideal for making a lot of invitations as it makes good use of the paper. The invitation was then attached to a piece of backing paper. Two rows of glitter glue have been run around the invitation to give it a more 'finished' look.

The backing paper in the photo has been created by stamping on wet paper using Distress Inks. The inks bleed over the paper and this gives an attractive finished effect (see How to Use Distress Inks for more information).

Flower Invitation

This pretty invitation has been created using one of the four-a-page invitation templates and this has been printed onto paper. A large flower has been stamped onto a separate sheet of paper and this has been colored and cut out. The invitation template and the flower have been attached to a separate sheet of cardstock. The flower has been attached with a single glue dot and this helps to give a three dimensional finish to the invitation.

This is a good way of utilizing scraps of paper and cardstock.

Folded Invitation

This simple invitation has been created using one of the four-a-page invitations that has been printed onto cardstock. This has been trimmed and folded to form a greeting card style invitation. The front has been decorated with rubber stamped images. A border has been drawn onto the card to give it a finished look.

...and more!

These are just a few ways to make use of these quick and easy templates. A few rubber stamps, rubber stamping techniques and a bit of imagination is all that is required to make lovely customized invitations.
