Snowman Card

Kate Pullen
This attractive snowman card uses the wet embossing technique. This is a quick, fun project and would adapt well to a variety of occasions.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Quick - but allow time for drying

Here's How:

  1. Following the instructions, make a wet embossed image using a suitable rubber stamp. Make the image so it is smaller than the card blank. The card can be any size however it is useful to remember that when folded in two, a standard sheet of 8 1/2" by 11" cardstock will create two greeting cards of 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". These cards will fit in a standard 4 3/8" by 5 3/4" envelope.

  2. Leave the wet embossed image to dry.

  3. Color the raised outline of the snowman using chalks or colored pencils.

  4. Tear around the edge of the image, the rough edge is enhanced by the layers of paper and is highly textured.

  5. Using a fast drying glue such as a glue spray, apply glue to the back of the image and attach to the center of the card. Leave to dry and finish as required.

Tips:

  1. Apply glitter or snowflake stickers to enhance the festive finish.
  2. Use chalks or colored pencils to color instead of paint, as the finished image will be highly absorbent.
  3. This is an ideal project for children.

What You Need:

  • A wet embossed image made with a suitable rubber stamp
  • Sheet of cardstock of appropriate size
  • Quick drying glue
  • Chalks or colored pencils
